Serving Children, Strengthening Families
La Guadería is a mission sponsored by donors in the United States, providing a Catholic education to students in Las Matas de Farfán, an impoverished neighborhood in the Dominican Republic. The children are provided with 2 square meals and 3 snacks every day. The daycare/school was established in 2004.
For over 20 years, we have made great strides in fulfilling the vision of our founding leaders, Sor Pilar and Father Quinn, by caring for the Las Matas families and their community. We have seen the fruits of our labor and donations by sponsoring children into the University.

Our Mission
God’s Direct Reach Mission promotes the spiritual, educational and physical well-being of the children of Las Matas de Farfán, D. R. and the surrounding area and builds on the vision of our founder, Sor Pilar, Daughters of Charity, by extending care from early childhood through university years.
Projects That Create Lasting Impact
Each program supports children and families at a different stage of life.
La Milagrosa Hogar Infantil
Provides daycare, early childhood education and nutrition (2 meals a day) for over 100 children.
Mother Theresa’s Nutrition Center
Provides medical care and nutrition for malnourished children.
High School Scholarships
Provides scholarships for students to attend Catholic High School while learning community service through volunteerism at the La Guadería.
University Scholarships
Provides transportation, housing, books and materials to students who are accepted into the state run university.
Habitat Project
Built home for La Guadería employee and her three children.
Chapel Project
Built chapel/parish hall in connection with La Milagrosa and built a chapel in the surrounding campo area.
Community Outreach
Provides donated vitamins, clothing and shoes to children and adults within the community and provides guidance for the street children with little or no home life.
